This brilliant infographic tracks the history of music media since 1980. It shows the decline of vinyl, followed by the growth and then decline of the tape. I never realised how dominate tape was during the late 80s, but guess that’ll be all those Walkman owners.
It shows how at the start of this century virtually all music media was consumed via CD. It will be interesting to see how things change with download singles and albums and subscription channels via for the top spot.
