The Duchess of Cornwall visited the National Theatre, which is in Lambeth’s Southbank. After watching a short rehearsal of ‘The Odyssey’ performed by Public Acts, the Duchess was invited on stage to meet staff and members of the production team who bring the theatre’s show to life.

Post-Covid The National Theatre has been working hard to bring back live performances to audiences. However, during the lockdown, their productions were watched by over 15 million around the world.

Connections, the National Theatre’s annual youth theatre festival had the largest cohort in the programme’s history, with 12,000 young people taking part.

As Representative Deputy Lieutenant for Lambeth, Christopher Wellbelove DL, assists with organising such visits and it was great to see that it was a huge success.
